Reinforcement of Power System Performance Through Optimal Allotment of Distributed Generators Using Metaheuristic Optimization Algorithms

Owing to the acute shortage of electric power in majority countries, short-term measures such as installation Distributed Generators (DGs) have attracted much attention recent decades. Employment DGs can provide numerous advantages for systems through reduction losses, escalation voltage profile, well mitigation pollutant emissions. However, case they are not optimally allotted, may even lead aggravation network operation from different aspects. The aim this paper is explore optimal size and location using metaheuristic optimization algorithms so that performance enhanced. salient feature proposed strategy compared previous works it contemplates allotment under various objectives, i.e. minimization total active reactive Cumulative Voltage Deviation (CVD), with weight values. Furthermore, impact enhancement number on aspects system investigated. Finally, increase accuracy results, three nature-inspired algorithms, Genetic Algorithm (GA), Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) deployed, their speed approaching global optimum each other. simulation results IEEE 14-bus indicate only reinforce overall deviation but also improvement profile.
